August Newsletter Meeting 18th August

posted Aug 13, 2016, 1:27 PM by Loddon Quilters
The challenge - for the tenth year of Loddon Quilters.

Jacky has reminded us of our latest challenge. How many things/events/memories can you think

of associated with the number ten and our ten years of Loddon Quilters? The challenge is to

represent your idea on a 10” quilt block. The first block has arrived – the ten of hearts playing

card – what a good idea!

3 of the original Loddon quilts were at the meeting, if you are inspired to make one of those

blocks (they were 10” blocks) we have the instructions.

If you made a Loddon quilt, or a sampler quilt with Diana, and still have it bring it along to show

and tell to remind us of our early quilts.

We sorted out the pinwheel blocks to make 6 Linus quilts. 6 members volunteered to put the

blocks together – many thanks.

Later we shall be looking for volunteers to put borders on the quilts.

We had our usual display of wonderful quilts for Show and Tell, do keep bringing them even if

they are ‘works in progress’, we love to see them.

Don’t forget you can see all the photos on our website, they go back to our first year, so you can

have a trip down memory lane! The newsletter is always posted there just before the meeting.

There are also folders with workshop notes.

Secret Santa ideas – thank you for all your great ideas, we should be ok for the next 10 years.

We’ll decide at the next committee meeting which idea we shall start with. Don’t forget that if

you have ideas for projects during the year let us know, either via the suggestions box or a

member of the committee.
